Hot News From the Kiln

Goodbye to my good friend, String Bean, a constant and dearly loved companion for more years than I can count.
Pet Urns for Ashes...Created from Fire and Wood Ash
The ceramic pet urns from the wood firing this month turned out so well! The combination of fire and wood ash produced some wonderfully colorful urns...tones of red, blue, green, purple, and grey.
Each urn I unearthed from the kiln was a totally different creation, in both coloration and patterning. While one urn was primarily greys and blacks with a negative, ghostly image of a fern, another had multiple colors and sunlight patterns throughout.
Please check out my new urns that are now listed in the small dog and medium dog collections.

More Custom Pet Urns
A few more custom ceramic pet urns, both cremation urns for dogs and cats, have been completed this week. I took advantage of this sunny early spring afternoon to photograph the urns I finished.
Wawa's dog urn is the Running through Birches style, with a sepia toned imprint of his image on the side. The lid has his name and dates of life. I didn't notice the sun rays shining down on his urn until afterwards, when looking at the images taken. Truly a heavenly beam, from across the Rainbow Bridge.
The cat urns were painted on a creamy white glazed light buff stoneware clay. The white glaze is hazy in spots, appearing as if clouds.
Kuzoo's urn lid has an imprint of his own paw, and individual and special touch.
